How To Make Torta Caprese

Step 1 Process the almonds and chocolate for about one minute.

Step 2: Sift the cocoa powder and baking powder over the almond mixture and use a fork to blend.

Step 3: Beat the butter and half the sugar until light and fluffy.  Step 4: Beat in the egg yolks and rum.

Step 5: In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites and the rest of the sugar to a stiff meringue.

Step 6: Fold a third of the meringue and a third of the almond-chocolate mixture into the butter-yolk mixture.

Step 7: Repeat step 6 twice more, then pour the batter into a prepared pan, and spread it evenly. Bake
