Sufganiyot Israeli Jelly  Doughnuts

Sufganiyot are fluffy  Israeli donuts eaten during Hanukkah. The donuts are fried and filled with strawberry preserves, or any of your favorite filling.

How To Make Sufganiyot

Pour the lukewarm milk into a large bowl, sprinkle the yeast and one tablespoon of sugar and let sit for 15 minutes until frothy.

Step 2: Add the rest of the ingredients and mix for about 3 minutes, until you have a smooth dough.

Step 3: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in size.

Step 4: Divide the dough into 10 pieces, roll each to a ball and place it over a 4x4 parchment paper square.

Step 5: Fry the donuts in hot oil (320F, 160C) for 3 minutes on each side. Remove from the oil and place over a plate lines with parchment paper.

Step 6: Dust the donuts with powdered sugar, fill with jelly and enjoy!
